Waves VU Meter - Perpetual License

Waves VU Meter is a metering plug-in from Waves Audio that reproduces the behaviour of the classic analogue VU meters found on studio consoles and tape machines. It is meant for engineers and producers who want to judge the average loudness of a track, a bus or a mix the way the ear perceives it, and to keep consistent levels between plug-ins that expect an analogue-style input. The purchase is a licence for the plug-in, registered to your own Waves account and then activated on your computer through the Waves installer.

This product is a perpetual license key for Waves VU Meter: it does not expire and can be used on 1 device running macOS and Windows. The key is delivered by email together with the activation instructions.

The meter is usually placed at the end of a channel or on the mix bus while gain staging: the reference level is set to match the working level of the session, and the needle then shows at a glance whether a source sits too hot or too low before it reaches compressors and saturation plug-ins. Its light processing load allows one instance on every track of a large session.

Key Features:

• Analogue needle ballistics: The needle rises and falls with the smooth, averaged response of a hardware VU meter instead of following every short peak.
• Adjustable calibration: The reference level that corresponds to 0 VU can be changed to match the working level of the session or of the rest of the plug-in chain.
• Clip indicator: A dedicated light warns when the digital signal reaches full scale, so overloads are noticed even while watching the average level.
• Low CPU usage: The plug-in needs very little processing power, so many instances can run in the same project without affecting playback.
• Common plug-in formats: It installs as AAX, VST, VST3 and AU on Windows and macOS and works in the main digital audio workstations.
