Windows Server 2025 Datacenter - Perpetual License

Windows Server 2025 is the server operating system developed by Microsoft and released in November 2024: it runs file, web and application services, domain controllers and virtual machines on physical or virtual hardware, with the same desktop look as Windows 11. It is meant for system administrators, companies and IT departments that want the current Microsoft server platform, from a single office server to a virtualisation host or a machine connected to Azure services. What you buy is an activation key for Windows Server 2025 in the edition named in the title: the key is entered during installation or afterwards in the Activation settings.

This product is a perpetual license key for Windows Server 2025 Datacenter: it does not expire and can be used on 2 PCs running Windows. The key is delivered by email together with the activation instructions.

A typical setup combines Active Directory, DNS and DHCP for the company network, a file server for shared folders and several Hyper-V virtual machines for business applications, managed from Server Manager or from the browser with Windows Admin Center. Client access licences and Remote Desktop licences are not included, and the key must match the edition you install.

Key Features:

• Active Directory improvements: Domain controllers gain a larger optional database page size, better performance on multi-core servers and stronger default security for LDAP and Kerberos.
• Unlimited virtual machines: The Datacenter edition allows an unlimited number of Hyper-V virtual machines and containers on the licensed host, as the supplier declares (unlimited virtualisation rights); the built-in hypervisor runs Windows and Linux guests and supports GPU partitioning.
• Faster storage: Reworked NVMe support raises input and output performance on modern solid-state drives, and Storage Spaces and ReFS handle large volumes for file and application servers.
• Datacenter-only features: Storage Spaces Direct for hyper-converged storage, Software-Defined Networking and Shielded Virtual Machines with the Host Guardian Service are available only in the Datacenter edition, for clusters and virtualisation hosts in data centres. Client access licences (CALs) and Remote Desktop licences are not included.
• SMB over QUIC: File shares can be reached securely over the internet without a VPN in every edition, and SMB signing is required by default to protect file traffic.
