Nicky Romero Kickstart 2 - License Key

Kickstart 2 is a sidechain effect plugin created by the producer Nicky Romero together with the German developer Cableguys. It is meant for music producers who want the pumping effect of classic sidechain compression on bass, pads or full mixes without setting up a compressor and its routing by hand. This listing is a license for the plugin: you install it in your audio workstation and unlock it with the activation data you receive.

This product is a license key for Nicky Romero Kickstart 2 for use on macOS and Windows; the number of PCs is not stated by the supplier. The supplier does not state the duration of the license, so no specific validity period is guaranteed. The key is delivered by email together with the activation instructions.

You insert Kickstart 2 on the track that should duck, pick a curve and set the amount with the large Mix knob. In the simplest mode it follows the tempo of the song; when the kick drum is routed into its sidechain input, it reacts to the real kick hits, which helps with broken or irregular drum patterns in genres such as house, techno, trap, hip-hop or drum and bass.

Key Features:

• Instant sidechain ducking: The effect works as soon as it is loaded, without threshold, ratio or routing settings, so you hear the pumping in a few seconds.
• 16 ready-made curves: A set of volume curves designed by Nicky Romero covers short and long kicks and different amounts of pumping, from subtle to strong.
• MIDI and audio triggering: Besides tempo sync, the curve can be started by MIDI notes or by the kick itself through the external sidechain input of your DAW.
• Multiband mode: The ducking can be limited to the low frequencies, so the bass makes room for the kick while the highs of the sound stay untouched.
• Kick view: The display shows the waveforms of the kick and of the processed track together, which makes it easy to line up the curve with the kick length.
