Permute 3 - Perpetual License

Permute is a media converter for macOS developed by the independent studio Charlie Monroe Software: drop video, audio or image files into its window, choose the target format or a device preset and the app converts everything in the background, several files at a time. It is meant for Mac users who often need a file in another format: a video for an iPad or Apple TV, a soundtrack as MP3 or FLAC, a batch of photos as JPEG or PNG or a clip joined from several parts, without opening a professional editor. This listing is a license code for the direct download version from the developer's website: a one-time purchase for the major version stated in the title, issued for your email address and used on your own Macs, with no subscription.

This product is a perpetual license key for Permute 3: it does not expire and can be used on 3 Macs running macOS. The key is delivered by email together with the activation instructions.

Permute 3 runs on macOS 11 to 15 on Intel and Apple silicon Macs and keeps working after the release of Permute 4 (May 2026, macOS 26 and Apple silicon only), with an upgrade path offered by the developer. When Downie, the video downloader from the same studio, is installed, it can hand its downloads to Permute for conversion.

Key Features:

• Video, audio and image conversion: One window for the common formats: MP4, H.264 and HEVC video, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and animated GIF; MP3, AAC, FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV and AIFF audio; JPEG, PNG, HEIC and TIFF images.
• Device and format presets: Ready-made presets for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K and the main formats; each one can be duplicated and tuned: resolution, video and audio quality, deinterlacing, subtitles, hardware acceleration.
• Batch conversion, hardware accelerated: Files are grouped by type, converted in parallel and shown as thumbnails with their progress; H.264 and HEVC encoding uses the Mac's hardware encoder to keep long batches short.
• Merge, stitch and adjust: Several videos or audio tracks can be joined into one file and images stitched together; from the same settings you raise the volume, rotate or flip a video or change its resolution.
• Subtitles, ringtones and text: Subtitles are copied from the source or burned into the picture, audio files become iPhone ringtones, images can be exported as a PDF and, since version 3.2, converted into text through recognition.
